Start-Utility v2.00 | (c) TI-Chess Team |
Usage Information | Anno Domini 2000 |
Since AMS 2.01 TI has integrated a length restriction on assembler programs. On AMS version lower than 2.04 the maximum length is 8kB and since 2.04 the maximum length is 24kB, which may not be enough for every program.
If the calculator states "ASAP or Exec string too long" you have tried to start a program which cannot be started due to the length restriction.
There are many ways around this restriction. You can install the famous HW2Patch, but patching the AMS is not always a good idea. Some programs comes with an own starting tool like TI-Chess and there exist also another generic start tool, but I cannot remember its name and its download location.
Due to this fact I have modified the starting tool of TI-Chess which is based on code of Zeljko Juric to start any NOSTUB program. You have just to type in: start("programname") and it will start the program. Don't forget the quotes around the programname. Otherwise the start utility will reject it.

Like Xavier from the Doors Team I like it to get postcards from all over the world. If you want to thank me, just send me a postcard with greetings. That's enough.
